battle of the Foundations: Chanel Perfecton Lumiere vs Lancôme's Teint Idole Ultra 24H

Foundation. The 'perfect foundation' but what is perfection? Perfection defined - as having all the required or desirable elements, qualities, or characteristics; as good as it is possible to be, but "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".
I doubt that a perfect foundation exists, however I think that finding a complementary foundation that creates the an artistic 'illusion' of perfect skin is what is essential' or possibly ultimate perfection depending on your skin type, undertones tone , texture ect.

Listed below are my ultimate luxury foundations for different purposes. The notion of you get what you pay for is somewhat applicable when purchasing foundations. While cheaper foundations may create the perfect skin finish, unfortunately the chemicals used to create that appearance are often harsher on the skin than others. I have very sensitive skin and allergies. it is unfortunate that I cannot find a cheap foundation that works wonders as the chemicals always effect me in the end.

Chanel Perfecton Lumiere

CHANEL claims that this foundation Effortless to apply, with seamless blendability for a naturally flawless effect, this breakthrough foundation is the ideal all-day, everyday formula – suitable for all skin types in a diverse range of 20 shades. Its buildable texture offers adjustable coverage for a flawless, natural look that will last all day.
Apply more foundation on specific areas you wish to conceal.

My evaluation. This is the possibly one of the best foundations I have ever tried. It is truly effortless to apply & its feel very light on the skin. The texture is very a light yorgort consistency.  You almost forget you are wearing foundation as it creates a flawless finish with a subtle glowy appearance; if applied with a moisturiser underneath. The scent of this foundation is phenomenal like other Chanel products.  If you unconvinced by scented products then Chanel products are not for you. Its unfortunate that Chanel has failed to develop a wider range of colours for darker skin tone, although it has made steps in the right direction.
What is almost magical about this foundation is that when it oxidises over a few minutes it blends more to match my skin-tone. I will complement the active ingredient Chanel has added.

Sadly, to match my skin-tone this foundation requires additional powder or a mixture of foundation.  If you can find the colour that suits you and a lot of spare change then, this product is a must have. When I wear this foundation I receive so many complements on my skin. Chanel has created the perfect combination, its a shame about the price and the lack of inaccessible colours for everyone.

I will purchase another bottle if they update their colour ranges, BUT once again the price burns holes my pockets ( its worth it though)
- light foundation for medium to full coverage
- yellow undertones
-magical oxidising period after applying the foundation
- cost very expensive! The price is eye watering.

Lancôme's Teint Idole Ultra 24H

Lancome states that this foundation offers more long-wear and comfort than any other foundation*.
Following 8 years of research, Lancôme unveils its first 24h** wear foundation for lasting perfection. Teint Idole Ultra 24H remains retouch-free, providing a flawless looking, even complexion with a velvety-smooth, shine-free finish. In perfect affinity with the skin, Teint Idole Ultra 24h is irresistibly comfortable. Its new, blendable and fresh texture is divine and leaves the complexion feeling smooth, velvety and matte with no powdery effect. 18 shades available.
Suitable for all skin types.

My evaluation- Lancome has perfected its colours ranges to compete with the giant of diverse cosmetics,  MAC. The colour 'Sienne' matched my skin perfectly, I could not ask for more.Yes the product is blendable and buildable;  indeed lasts until you wash it off. With this foundation a little goes a long way. The texture is a medium to think consistency, this is the only disadvantage this has it that it feels like I am wearing a foundation on my face. Of course it is a medium to full coverage foundation however, Chanel's perfection lumier is also a medium to full coverage and its is very light.

This foundation reminds of Estee Lauder's attempts at dark foundation but I think Lancome wins, for the cost factor and colour matching. Join the band wagon. Its an all round winner. It simply does the job if you are searching for the perfect foundation. If you are a MAC foundation lover or bandwagon jumper; you will love this product.

I will be purchasing another bottle this weekend or possibly trying YSL's Touche Eclat new foundation....

-thick consistency foundation for medium to full coverage
- red undertones
-buildable and blendable
- matches my skin perfectly, they have diverse colour ranges.
- cost is luxury pricing its expensive.
-simply does the job

Part 2 of my review will include the rest of the foundations...........
